CHB Health Planning
Community health planning is an ongoing activity for the CHBs. Health planning helps to identify community health issues or trends and provides ideas and strategies for CHB community partners and NSHA which, when put in place, will work toward improving the overall health of the communities we serve.
CHBs are proud to be part of NSHA and fully support the vision of "Healthy People, Healthy Communities – for Generations".
Each year, the Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness (DHW) designates funds for each CHB in the province to distribute as Wellness Funds (WF).
This fund is for non-profit groups working to improve health in their communities and must address the health priorities identified by the CHBs in their current community health plan.
CHB Provincial Summit
Every two years, CHB members are invited to attend a provincial CHB Summit. The last summit was held in Truro, Nova Scotia on October 28-29, 2016. The theme for the Summit: Navigating Collective Community Action for Improved Wellness for All.
