Meet Alyssa

I have just recently joined the [Annapolis] Community Health Board. I am a grade 10 student currently attending MRHS. I have been part of council since grade 7 at MRHS and really enjoy it! I’ve taken part in different leadership conferences through school and loved to be involved. I play volleyball, soccer, basketball, badminton and am on the track and field team at school. I work in the produce department at Middleton Foodland. I have volunteered on the veterans unit at SMH for the walk about program. I love being active and part of my community. I enjoy the outdoors!

I volunteer for the Community Health Board because I love doing for others and my community! It provides a natural sense of accomplishment and it give me a sense of pride and identity.  Although I have not been with the CHB all that long, I love being part of getting our community more active! I think it’s good for self-confidence and self-esteem and if I can help make that happen, I’m happy!

Community Health Boards are an important part of the health and wellness in our communities. They work together to help improve where we live, work, play and learn! [I’m interested in] helping get more kids involved in being active and into activities and volunteering. I feel it’s important in boosting ones self-esteem when they feel like they’re part of something!
